Muath Edriss
is a multifaceted artist with a rich background in music and performance.
Originally from Syria, where he received his musical education, Muath later relocated to the United States, pursuing a diverse career in the entertainment industry.
His professional journey began with roles in television production, including positions at Saudi TV and MBC Group, before fully dedicating himself to music in 2000.
He holds the unique honor of being the first Arab and only civilian to perform on the Oud and sing in Arabic at the White House. Additionally, he translated and performed the U.S. National Anthem in Arabic, showcasing his linguistic and musical talents.
Beyond his musical endeavors, Muath has made significant contributions to theater and education. He has directed student productions for Qatar cultural attache in the Washington D.C. area and has graced prestigious venues such as the Library of Congress, Kennedy Center, and Blair House with his performances. As a visiting lecturer at American universities, including Middlebury College in Vermont, Indiana University, and QFI, Muath shares his expertise on the intersections of music, language, and religion. His cultural ambassadorship extends to his role as an honorary representative for the Arab America organization in the United States since 2017.
